False hypo?

Hi all,
I was diagnosed in Nov 09. I am type 2 diet controlled. My fasting levels are usually in the 7's and after meals I have been ranging from 8 to 10.
I have been following a lower carb diet recently. Today I felt shaky, sick, dizzy and just generally rubbish. I tested and was 4.8. It has happened a few times but this was the only time I was armed with my monitor.
I know 4.8 is not that low, so could I have been having a false hypo because it was low for me?
If so, isn't it a good thing suggesting I am getting better control?
Thanks in advance if anyone can advise.

Hi Dippy,
I think you have answered your own questions.
False hypos are not very pleasant but your control is obviously improving. It shows how important it is to test. Remember that 4 is the floor and keep it above this at all times.

Well done you.

Catherine.
