Fasting BG Query

Hello,

Feeling a bit low at present, my fasting bg two weeks ago averaged at 6.5, for about one week, since then I have returned to readings betwen 7.1 - 7.9, other daytime readings are a bit higher than I would have hoped too. Could it be anything to do with a recurring UTI, and a further course of antibiotics? I keep a food diary and spikes don´t seem to be the main problem? I have been trying so hard to get the readings down, and my 3 month visit to the DN is due in about 2 weeks and I really want to impress her with my results. Any advice would be appreciated.

Infections can put up your BG and if it's a UTI, you get caught in a spiral. Infection puts BG up and High BG makes life easier for UTI germs.
Try asking your doctor about a high dose antibiotic, which might just knock the UTI back on its heels.
Otherwise the condition has potential for going on a long while. the longer you take low doses of antibiotic, the more resistant to the antibiotic, the germ population becomes.

Thanks Hana, though this is the second course in two weeks and the fifth course in 6 weeks! And the joys of thrush too! So fed up this afternoon I had my first cake since before Christmas! But, Its OK, tomorrow is a new day for me.
