Finger Prickers

I use BG Star and I set the pricker on 5 I do find how ever some times the darn strips show an er which is a waste of strips but have informed them at the surgery and they say some times a bad batch does go out ??

I use the accu-chek fastclix and set it to 1 and a half and put that on the finger tip and it does the trick.

The prick is never where I want it to be - I try for the side of my finger near the nail and am lucky if that's where it comes. More often than not it comes much further inwards. Am I being silly here? It wouldn't surprise me.
The lancet is off centred. I just make sure I place the raised circle on the bottom exactly where I want it. Hope that helps.

Hi, can you use the Accu Chek elsewhere, other then yr fingers?

I ask as I have carpel tunnel in both my hands, and neuropathy, so the pads of my fingers can really hurt at times.

Thanks in advance

I personally have no idea...

Hi,

Thanks for the response - I see such plethera of meters, that I get confused and dont know which is the best one?

Redactet you should not prick the fingertips ,lot more nerve endings there and you need to maintain those for touch and feel etc ,use the sides of fingers then the thickening we all get after a while wont be in the touchy feely bit

I'm on the accu check as well. I find i'm rubbish if i try to use my left hand to press the thing if testing on a right hand finger.

the sooner they find / fund an inhaler to test blood the better.

Those cartridges are ridiculously expensive £50 for a pack of 2.

Have you seen the thread about Abbott Flash glucose monitoring?!
