I had my first test yesterday at Lloyds Chemist. It was 7.

2hrs after eating that evening it was 6.7

This morning first thing it was 5.5

1hr after breakfast it was 9.2.

Not sure what to make of this. What do you think?

What did you eat for breakfast ? It's a pity you didn't test 2 hours after breakfast as that way you could have seen if what you ate was ok for you as mentioned in the information I posted for you. @1 hour is usually the peak after a meal. Do you know yet if you have diabetes ? It's not mentioned in your profile. I hope you know that we can't diagnose you - you have to see your doctor for that.

Well if the question is are those diabetic.. then the answer is yes they are in a diabetic range... but you would need to go and see your GP for a definitive diagnoses.. (it's not just diabetes that can cause high blood glucose).

The good news is that your morning fasting readings are good.. without knowing what your +2 hour reading was and the amount of carbohydrate you ate it's difficult to quantify the + 1 hour reading..

I did do a +2 as well and it was 5.7. I had 10g carbs i.e. slice of toast.

I had my normal breakfast just to experiment: Fried egg in small coconut oil, 1 small slice of granary toast, with good dollop or organic butter, 2 small tomatoes fried, 2 rashers of streaky bacon. I also took my vitamins, vitamin d3, fish oils and a Chromium.

I am into a lot of holistic things and one of the things 'out there' at the moment is Nutritional Typing which can be taken free on the Mercola pages although I did shell out $38 to do a more comprehensive one last week. I am a protein type which means my body copes better with proteins and fats (saturated and essential) than a lot of say carb people or those that are in-between and can cope with both. Lucky for me I don't need a lot of carbs eh.

My weight stays pretty much the same so I know the protein diet suits me and I guess now that I will be kicking sugars into touch completely I might even lose some weight.

I have a doctors appointment for the 20th but if I manage this on my own I might cancel the appointment because as I've said before I have no faith in GP's.
