Aargh, I was so tired this morning that I forgot to prime my new Tresiba pen. I inject 3 units every morning - will this cause problems? Also woke up higher than normal (usually at 6.2 but this morning 8.7) which was obviously not to do with forgetting this morning but I seemed to be around 8 all through the night which is odd. Could it be because of a terrible sleep? It was very broken and I’ve just stopped a week of sleeping tablets? Or could it mean I need a higher basal? Thanks!

At a guess you'd have got no insulin from that jab, it takes around a 10u* setting to prime a new pen.

*give or take a couple of u and I like to prime both pens each time I use them.

Ah, I usually take it at 8 am - so I maybe should take it soonish if I’m going to take it? I’ll try and get hold of a nurse. Thanks!

We all get sometimes higher blood sugars for various reasons. If it is getting consistently than you need to think it might be basal insulin.
I have a few videos on my channel about this. One of them is about how to adjust your basal inulin.
I hope this is helping you. If not I am sorry for the intrusion.
