Just wish I could get others to follow the GB diet...

Guys turn away... Just saw documentary on Gary Barlow. He went up to 17st in his bad days.. Remains now at 12st and boy.. Does he look fab....(sorry guys)...

How did he do it? Yes, he's got money to throw at personal trainers and specialists etc.. But then he would also have the money to throw at **** food, **** alcholol, drugs etc...

So how did he go from a very large 17st back to being a 12st guy?? Its not all to do with money...

Even hubby tonight watching iplayer said is there a GB diet!!!

I'd rather follow his tax advisor
Or would I ? Must admit, he certainly sorted himself out and looks better now than he did 10 years ago !
 
So.. Wouldn't we all like to day that in 10 years time?

GB seems to be hitting the headlines today with his tax avoidance, I'm all for giving people a second chance and if he (and the other members) pay back what they owe then all is forgiven, he does do some good work for charity and seems like a nice guy who's made a mistake.
 
if the government(s) wasn't so wasteful with the taxes with criminally mismanaged services "people" would be happier to pay them, personally i still wouldn't want to but "people"
 
Trouble is nowadays is that The Gov't don't really set a great example when it comes to tax avoidance and fiddles. I'll be honest and if I earned enough money and could afford some fancy accountant to look for loop holes or to save me money, I'd do it. I don't mind paying tax but if I can lower the amount, I would. I'd guess 99% of the population would do the same, if it were legal.
 
the problem i have with tax is the way they take it, you get taxed when you earn it, then you get taxed when you spend it, then you get taxed when you die, while the powers that be squander away your hard fought sheckels on stupidness, i can't say as i could do a better job but i don't think i could do a worser one
 
And when you take your hard earned and hard taxed money and invest it (to reduce the burden on the state of looking after you when you are old) they tax that too.

And if you are sensible and save, they force down the savings rate to make life easier for the people who weren't sensible and borrowed too much. So you get pensioners who saved carefully all their lives, now living in poverty thanks to the government manipulating interest rates. :-(

Exactly Spiker. We are in a mess because everyone has borrowed too much, so we have low interest rates which promote further borrowing. It's a bit like HCPs telling us that our bodies can't tolerate carbs so we must eat more carbs. (rant over, I think I have turned into a grumpy old woman)

Anyway, what I've seen by googling the GB diet ( very little info really) looks good to me.
 
Don't like the tax avoidance, but when you got GB's money you have people to advise you on finances...they know every loop hole...they should also be stopped from all these tax dodges...

How did GB lose all the weight he had in the US (17st) and lose it and keep it off? He 12st now.

He obviously not a yo yo dieter, but got some good advice from somewhere...

I quite like Gary Barlow too but I am sure he would have know what was happening even though he took advice and had accountants. If it was a legal loop hole, I personally don't blame him. Most MP's do the same.
As for his weight loss, I have no idea but I guess it helps being able to afford chef's and personal trainers. That's not saying it's easy and he still had to work hard but there are 1000's of other people who have lost lots of weight too. I saw the show with him and James Corden and he briefly talked about his weight. He said he was sort of depressed as his career was in the doldrums. As it took off again, he made a conscious effort to shed the weight. Good luck to him !
 
Well I guess the dieting success (or failure) of any one person isn't enough to tell us that the diet they used is a good one (or a bad one).
