Hi my daughter has just had her first major hypo where she was staring into space and twitching. We did her b.g and she was 3.0 gave her juice she couldn't drink it gave her gel then came round had the rest of her juice after 5 minutes she was sick? Is this due to her bring low or glycogel or maybe coming down with a bug. After juice her b.g was 5.3 then she was sick back to 3.4. She had sweets and no more episodes hope this makes sense just so scary she was diagnosed nov 2010 and this is the first major scare lots of hypos but nothing this bad before.

Try to buy Glucogel in a bottle with long thin twist up nozzle which makes it easier to insert into someones mouth who is a bit un responsive due to being hypo. It can work through being absorbed into the mucal lining in the mouth like the gum line or cheeks and then massaged using the outside of the face. Only small amounts at a time though so to not risk choking. Once some kind of response has been achieved, most people can then be coaxed to drink some lucozade or other sugary liquid to get them ok again. I think the reason why your daughter was sick was probably due to too much glucose gel being used in one go and then fruit juice, so as awful as dealing with hypos is, try not to panic.
