Hi i am type 2
my medication is Humulin m3 insulin, i take 24ml before breakfast and 12 ml before my evening meal i also take metformin 1000mg twice a day and Mounjaro 2.5mg once a week
during the day my glucose levels spike to about 16-20 after meals to get my glucose level to a normal level it takes 3-4 hours by this time i am due to eat again is this normal for a spike to take so long to return to a safe level?
My diet is pretty good i do not eat any sweets chocolate or cakes only drink alcahol about once a month i class myself as pretty fit playing squash between 2 and 3 times a week i weigh just under 11st yet i am still struggling with high glucose spikes.
at the moment my HBA1C is 10.2 which is poor.
any advice would be a great help.

Hello and welcome @Dave1964 may I ask how long you have been diabetic ? And if you don’t mind me asking what is your diet like, what would be your typical day to day meals. :)

Hi I am also very spiky. This tends to be in the morning which I think is due to extra blood glucose coming from the liver due to a Dawn effect (but the spikiness drops in the afternoon) My solution is to have very little carbs at breakfast c15g and double the insulin. but it is very hit and miss. I dont get much advice from the doctors and i am heading towards getting a pump to solve this
