Getting old and everything that goes with it. All the repeats on TV. The drongos who ring me up to sell me things. Religious havens for pedophiles and war-mongers.
A bit too much mucking about for me. But that said, I remember we used to make carnation evaporated milk ice cream and that would probably work with pretend sugar. It tasted a bit different but we liked it. I think we mixed it nearly froze it and beat hell out of it and re-freezed it.

I will see if it Googles.

There are variants but I googled this
Ingredients

  1. 1 can ( 13. oz. ) evaporated milk, with Vitamin D added
  2. 1 1/4 c powdered sugar
Instructions

  1. Chill the milk in the fridge overnight. It is crucial for the milk to be thoroughly chilled.
  2. Pour into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Whip until fluffy, about 40 seconds.
  4. Add the powdered sugar, slowly pouring into the bowl and whip until combined.
  5. You can add your vanilla extract ( 2 teaspoons will do ) at this point and whip until combined.
  6. Place the bowl in the freezer for an hour.
  7. Pull out from the freezer, whip for 1 minute and back to the freezer.
  8. Repeat about 4 times.
  9. Place in a container with a lid. Store in the freezer.
  10. Enjoy!
I might give it a go,

Hi, that does sound pretty good and being Coeliac as well, this could be idea l( what's powered sugar and do you have the carb value for the ice cream?). But I buy evaporated milk mainly for my cat Harley, he goes nuts for it and when I have jelly I just have to pinch some of his evap ( as ,long as he doesn't see me )lol

I think powdered sugar is icing sugar (or normal sugar that you've bunged in a coffee grinder or powerful blender, til it is a fine powder.
