I like a teaspoon of it as a snack, I also mix it in yogurt sometimes or have it on a slice of low carb toast - I prefer it to peanut butter but think peanut butter and you can use it pretty much the same wayNever had almond butter, is it nice to eat on its own?

Still nothing lost - ocado had ground almonds on offer too the other week and I've got masses of the stuff!
Seems to keep ok although I would expect it to go rancid like some oils if it's kept too warm - I have the unopened jars in a dark cupboard and keep in the fridge once opened

Can almond butter be made at home using ground almonds
I don't know about using ground almonds to make butter but on a site called "detoxinista" there is a recommended method using whole almonds. Three cups in a processor takes about fifteen minutes to become butter. I haven't tried it yet.....

Do the oils from the almonds themselves make it turn into butter? That's nuts (!)I believe so in the same way as you can make peanut butter, just leave it in a blender for a bit too long and butter is what you will get, no other additives needed!
