Help with new medtronic veo pump - alarm!

Suspending stops all insulin delivery, basal and any bolus in progress. You then press ACT to 'Resume' and it resumes basal delivery only. Any bolus programmed but not delivered before the suspend gets cancelled. The status screen shows how much bolus was actually delivered by the pump.

No delivery probably meant it wasn't delivering currently, but may have already tried to deliver some bolus before it alarmed. Some bolus may have left the pump but being unable to exit the tubing due to kinked cannula, it built up pressure in the tubing (hence the alarm), with little or no bolus actually reaching you.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for further advice all. I am now going to try silouhette sets to see if these are better. They don't arrive until next Monday so still MDI for now

That's great you got it sorted, hope they work out better for you! Are you getting the SilSerter as well? That's the insertion device to shoot them in at the right angle. I know some people put them in manually, and I tried to do that on the train last week but I just can't do it (partly because it's too scary I just rather have it over with quickly lol).

Let us know how you get on with the new cannulas

Yes - they had spare inserters so I've got one of those. It looks quite an implement and I understand that both the needle and cannula are longer - yayks!!! But I'm still positive. I won't ask if this set hurts due to the larger needle etc. as I really didn't feel any pain with the quick sets. Take care all.
