Bigotry, reliance on unsupported 'facts', unkindness, unfairness.
This made my sympathetic blood sugars rise.
I feel very very concerned about the way people from lower income groups are affected by the cost of staying alive. We know that stress, and wondering if you can afford another vial of insulin is high stress, makes it difficult to maintain good control. We also know that better patient-insulin alignment improves lives. Yet it seems that profiting from a condition that affects us is more important to those who deal in insulin than benefitting those who need it to stay alive.
We mustn’t let the NHS be railroaded here in the U.K.! It seems that private companies are becoming more and more involved in the NHS. I’m writing from a position of knowing that I don’t know enough about the supply chains and the contracts but I do know that individual CCGs are having to weigh up costs before approving insulin. For instance, in some areas Fiasp is prescribed, in some it’s not.
That, though, is a small concern compared to the worry of inflated prices for Americans.
