Hi all I only got diagnosed 2 months ago and so far I seemed to manage it ok. Although recently my sugars are good 2 hours after eating but then seem to rise again without touching anymore food/drink
I was on 7 today 2 hours after eating then 4 hours later I was on 14 I don't understand

Hello and welcome to the forum:)

It's very early days for you, so your diabetes team and DSN should be offering you advice regarding how much insulin to take with your meals, etc? Are they doing this?

There are many factors which can make BG rise: stress, exercise, insufficient basal insulin on-board, excess fat content in your meal. I wouldn't be too tough on yourself, especially given the fact that you're only eight weeks in!

Have you been keeping BG records to take back to your diabetes team? A food diary to go along with your BG records is also very helpful, as it allows for the diabetes team to give you the best possible advice.

Good luck!

I've had quiet a lot of cheese with ma meek it could be that would u recommend a low fat diet

It's early days @nathb Your body may still be making small amounts of insulin occasionally and this can mess up your results as its not predictable.

My first thought is that you may need to speak to your DSN about your basal (long acting) insulin dose/timing. if that's ok, then it's possibly still what you ate making your BS go up after two hours. Some meals will do that, especially things like pizza and fish and chips.
