Hi , i am taking tablets for my diabetes for 15 years and my blood sugars have been under control untill now, for the last three months i have been on hormone therapy and now my blood count are from 11 to 19 has any had the same thanks Cider

There is some evidence that hormone replacement does not increase HbA1c or fasting blood sugars but can lead to blood sugars that are higher for longer after eating. It could also be that the readings you are experiencing are signalling the need for a diabetes medication review. Perhaps a different medication would help.

Hope this helps

I'm on DPP 4 inhibitors, which block the hormone that switches off my insulin production after I eat, so it would seem reasonable to expect extra hormone (which is a similar family) to possibly decrease your insulin release sooner.

thanks lads for the info , i am booked in with my GP on Wednesday hope to get it sorted many thanks Cider
