I have been experiencing blood sugar levels in a morning of 8 plus, when I test at other points in the day my levels seem normal, during this hot spell.Has anyone else had this?

I have also been switched from metaformin to xelevia 50mg, about a month or so ago. Is this a drug that might cause this?

I really want to try and get my bloods down but it's seems really hard to do. I've cut back on a lots, changed my diet etc but levels on HBA1c don't seem to be going anywhere.

The active ingredient in Xelevia is sitagliptin so by rights this should not be raising your bg levels.

Your rise in fasting bg may be down to the heat plus Liver dump. As it has been hot and sticky of late this may have disturbed your sleep which would also have affected your fbg.

Hi

It can be heat, cold, illness, dehydration or annoyingly any change in the routine you have, be it by your doing or the environment you are in.

I have stopped testing 1st thing, preferring to check 2 hours after breakfast, it's for me a consistent routine.

honestly, unless you are inhaling food before bed don't bust yourself over this, it's not you.

Thanks for replies. always great to hear from other folk :)
