Thank you again to all members who turned up to our meeting last month. Despite the technical hitch with the computer the evening was very informative and interesting,

Aileen McLeish, Chairperson of Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital Trust, gave an excellent overview of the facilities and developments taking place at the two hospitals. She also reiterated that the best way to influence what happens at the hospital is to become a member of the Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital Trust. We have circulated leaflets on how to become a member of Trust.

Dr. Mandal who is the Stroke Consultant based at Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospital Trust gave a very interesting overview on the types of stroke, what happens when a stroke occurs. He also outlined the facilities at the hospital on dealing with strokes. Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital Trust has become a regional centre for dealing with strokes
