My brat managed that at about 8 and now takes great delight in leaning on the top of my head - he's now 14" taller than me.

I'm a wee smidge over 5' these days. But what I want to know is how have I lost over 2" in the last 5 or 6 years? We have a door frame where we measured my son as he grew and I'm well over 2" shorter than I was when we first marked it and was the same for many years, but recently have stared noticeably shrinking. Yet my husband is exactly the same still. I know we age as we get older, but that seems excessive to me.
