Infusion set error

I am due to go on an animas 2020 in two weeks and on my first pump course meeting we all tried out an infusion set. I fired it in and when I went to pull off the inserter the whole thing including cannula came away. My nurse thought I just hadn't pushed the middle part down well enough to stick and gave me one to try at home.

I took my time and fired it in and this time firmly pushed the middle section. However again when I went to pull the unit off the cannula came with it. What am I doing wrong please?

I am using the mio for trial as it's the closest set they had to the actual animas inset II I will be using.

The Animas Insets fire in with no problems. The Mio looks like an Inset but from reading someone elses experience with using this Medtronic set on another forum, there is obviously a problem with them :|
