people who act like they are the diabetic police!!!
Hi

I had an appointment today to see the DNS about getting a pump. The one they use in this area is the animas 2020. I was told all going well I should get one at the end of May. I was told it costs £3000 and that I would have to have it insured in some way ie my house insurance include it in that. Does anyone else do this and how do you go about it?

I have the same pump and added it for about £30 a year....It took a few hours for the Insurers to understand what it was though :?

The Animas rep supplied me a letter of value for the Insurance company by the way.. :)

My pump isn't on my house insurance..

Partly I have never been asked by clinic to insurance the pump myself...

Pumps supplied by PCT funding remain the property of the PCT, we only have it on loan...

When people say 'Pacific' instead of 'Specific' :-)
my pump clinic wouldn't release the pump to me until I had shown them my insurance cert!! but then I am one of those kind of people who would undoubtedly drop it down the loo on day 1 if I hadn't got the insurance to cover for accidental damage  (actually, my pump is waterproof so prob not a good example!!)

People who like the sound of their own voice and think they know better than everyone else.
My clinic has never mentioned insurance to me, but they did mention it to my friend who just got her pump connected today. I'm going to call my nurse tomorrow and find out what the deal is with that, since I don't have any kind of insurance policy. Any other options for insurance?

I'm pretty peeved they didn't say anything actually.

People who are touchy.......feign indignation at the slightest thing. Hypocrites, bullies and cowards.
Try an Insurance Broker who deals in Specialist Insurance.........most will give you a quote on anything !
