Is Aloe Vera OK To Take?

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of taking aloe vera capsules for a medical condition not related to my diabetes, and I'm just wondering if anyone knows how this can effect blood glucose levels?

I've come across a couple of sites online that suggest it may lower it, but as it's quite pricey I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has any experience of taking it, and how it effected them. I don't really mind if it doesn't lower bg, as that's not the main aim of me taking it (although it'd be nice!), I'm more concerned about it causing an increase.

Thanks :D

Thanks for the reply Grazer,

Hmm, it was the gel capsules I was considering taking as the juice usually contains citric acid which can exacerbate the problem I'd be taking the aloe vera for

I'll have to have a bit more of a look around at the different supplement options, seems like capsules or juice are the norm though. It does look like it could be pretty good for the diabetes as well, which would be an added bonus :)
