is the nutrition info correct

    Hello All,

    Question on bread
    Here in Ireland a brand called Ormo is available (see link)
    It is a type of buttermilk/Sodabread , the nutrition info states 17g carb per 100g
    This seems very low as bread is normally around 50g carb per 100g
    I am a bit wary as my daughter likes the bread but I could be going to low on the insulin as
    Based on the nutrition info I would give 66% less insulin than normal bread

    Any one any ideas ?

    Serving Size: 40g slice.
    * Total Fat............... 0.8g
    * Saturated Fat..........0.2g
    * Sodium ................360mg
    * Total Carbohydrate.. 14.8g
    * Dietary Fiber.......... 2.6g
    * Sugars ..................0.7g
    * Protein ................3.4g

    Therefore if a 40g slice contains 14.8g carbs then divide 14.8 by 40 which gives you carbs per gram.
    That is 0.37g, so multiply that by 100 to give a total carb content of 37g per 100g weight.

    oh dear it looks like the info on the packet is incorrect
    i have a feeling they have put the 45g serving size info info the 100g column
    and then divided the 100g into a serving size
    the packet states 45g portion contain 7.65g carb

    According to the Tesco and Sainsbury sites the carb content of Ormo wheaten bread is 14.3 grams per 37 gram slice.
