Is There a Maximum Dosage Allowable of Gliclazide / Sitagliptin?

My HbA1C level averages about 8% every day (70 mmol/mol). I take 4 x 80mg Gliclazide tablets and 1 x 100mg Sitagliptin tablet every day. I am told by my Nurse that this is the maximum dosage and cannot be increased.
However, even after changing my diet my HbA1C level shows no sign of going down.
Is there actually a maximum allowable dossage of Gliclazide / Sitagliptin? Or is there an alternative medicine?

Looks like 320mg is the max dosage of gliclazide

and 100mg for sitagliptin

But there are other medications you can take...

I used to have Ovaltine / Horlicks but have cut them out. My intake of bread is minimal. Unfortunately, having an ileostomy means that I have to eat regularly and often in order to maintain my weight.

My diet is as low on carbohydrates as possible and hasn't changed much in the past 5 years. In that time the HbA1C has slowly crept up. Unfortunately, I need to eat regularly and often in order to keep my weight up, as I have an ileostomy.
