Over the pond known as Kale chips.
I've been perfecting this after Tesco was throwing away large bags of it for 50p.
So I remove any stalk and toss the torn leaves into a bowl with a tablespoon of rice bran oil- I like this stuff, it's got a high heat point and is cholesterol free.
For a little zing, add any spice you fancy, garlic and a little sea salt work well but myself I concocted a crushed chilli mix.
Them capsicums are great for Diabetics.
Take your crisps and arrange on an ovenproof dish and these leaves are delicate when it comes to convection heat- although much more sturdy in soups.
150 degrees for about 12 minutes-then there you have a top snack akin to the chinese restaurant "seaweed" but with a much more complex flavour.
Don't burn them- they'll go unpalatable- but if you get it right (remember we arn't deep fat frying here) then you'll have a light crunchy texture, darkest green colour and very different from a bag of Walkers.
Word to the wise, I couldn't stand it either, but this way I'm feeling it:)
