Im a Diabetic Type 1 and low carber- diagnosed Feb 09. My last HBA1C was 5.6%.
Since then my Diabetes team have given me my own machine and strips to test my own Ketones- think they are happy with my progress but want to make sure the low carb is not making my ketone level go to high. On the pack it says that ketones should be less than 0.6%. I just tested and Ketone level was 1%- although my BS's are nearly always below 7- even after eating. Should it be below 0.6% then? Should l be concerned?
