Hi Emmerdale :) Here is some information about LADA for you:

http://www.locallada.swan.ac.uk/faq.html

That is certainly a very good and clear explanation of LADA ,Daisy ,but it is also the first time i have ever seen baked potatoes recommended to diabetics. {further down in dietary advice}
I always understood that it was tantamount to eating sugar.

Me too, if I eat any of those foods mentioned in more than tiny quantities my levels go up to double figures, surprising advice.

It's actually quite odd. I noticed that there's a misplaced bracket there so thought perhaps there was an error there that hadn't been corrected.
Jacket potatoes are one of those things that used to be assumed to be slow acting because of the skin, yet when they tested!. It definitely isn't low GI unless it's loaded with butter, cheese , sour cream etc

On the dietary advice page they write about low GI and in one point have a list which rightly incudes boiled new potatoes yet on the same page the jacket potato get another mention :!:

I certainly don't agree with the dietary advice in that link. But it does explain LADA quite well.
