I have just been told to change taking Lantus at night rather than in the morning . What time is best? Just before bed or with evening meal.
 
Take it at a time where you will remember to take the dose, if you think before bed would be best then just take it then.

I use to take my lantus just before bed but then started to take it around the same time as my evening meal.
 
I found when I took it with my evening meal it lowered my bs too much but if I take it before bed I stay steady during the night until morning. Intake it at 10:15

I take mine at night and find that it gives me the best fasting blood sugar numbers if I take it at 9pm every night even if I am staying up much later. If I take it earlier I wake up with higher than normal numbers.

Hi,
Why were you told this? Have you been experiencing hypos at any particular time??

I do mine before bed by the way.
 
I have a routine with all my meds so I take the lantus at 8.30 pm every night along with other meds I need to take daily at night. I picked a time I know I'll be awake for sure. But then even then when I'm too sick and go to bed early I'll set my alarm to get up and take meds & lantus at 8.30 pm. So the aim is to stick to the same time every day.
