Hello everyone been looking through this site for ages and its such a wealth of info much better than reading doctors reports that tell you nothing.

I have just been diagnosed with vitreous hemorrhages and eye floaters in my eyes they appeared out of the blue and have basically affected most of my vision to such a degree i am off work and had to give up driving ( fingers crossed its temporary ) Its been hard the last few weeks as the strain is giving me headaches and exhaustion , but trying to stay positive that i was wondering if anyone else on the forum has had these issues and if they knew of any ways to either speed up recovery or ways to adapt in living with the problem

Thanks in advance
Thomas

Have the same issue. Had 2 sessions of laser treatment these past 2 months and my eye floaters suddenly come on when I was sleeping. Woke up and had a few black ink swishes in my left centre view. Went to the eye hospital and was told I have advanced diabetic retinopathy. Doesn't help that I also have visual snow (looks like tiny pixels in my vision). Eye specialist said I'll go blind by 35 (28 at the moment) if I don't take care of myself.

They recommend the best way is prevention. It takes time(even months) for floaters to fade away. You just got to make sure you keep getting treatment and keep you blood sugar levels under control. They do go away (mine took about a week or 2) but sometimes heavy floaters take months.

Also they said to me if it gets worse I can have an injection to help clear my vision or worse case eye sugery.

Good luck man and I know the pain of eye floaters. Thought a spider or some crazy worm was in my eye one day but got used to it now.

Keep bloods under control, keep getting treatment and try not to cause too much strain on your eyes. I was doing exercises one time and noticed a floater come out of no where =(.

Thanks buddy
Yea thats pretty much what happened with me when they appeared Although my doctors tend to adopt a wait and see attitude which is what really makes me mad as they are supposed to be helping, instead of letting me sit in the house barely able to see.
Anyway hope things work out for you too Dazphoenix28

Hope you can get treatment for your retinopathy.
I had these symptoms and sadly for me progressed to full blown haemorrage. That's the worst case scenario by the way and I then had a vitrectomy in both eyes which saved my sight although I can't drive (this has led me into a fitness career so not all bad and have a free bus pass).
So hopefully you are getting regular reviews to track further changes (3-6 months intervals).
I should add that I'd just had a rollercoaster ride with pregnancy when all of this happened and that laser treatment is usually successful just not in my case!

Yea i'm getting seen every 2 to 3 months to check
progress
Who did you get you bus pass with. I'm in the middle of waiting to hear if i can apply for a travel card.
Glad its not keeping you down and you've found a career.
This is still pretty new for me so still trying to adapt and also explain to boss that things need to change.
Hope everything went well with your pregnancy
Mine was due to the rollercoaster of moving house.
How did the surgery go?
I've found out about them online and read a few horror stories that they did nothing to change the vision and the patient was left with cataracts.
Did you need to get any aids or adapt your home to help you.
