Type 2 Looking for reviews of the Ambrosia Real-time CGM

Before I potentially shell out for a product, I was wondering if there is any body of experience with these devices on the forum please? I'm currently using the Freestyle Libre2 as I was lucky enough to be given a three month supply free, and it;s a game changer for me. However I likely will be funding this myself as AFAIK the Scottish NHS won't for Type 2 patients.

The Ambrosia Real-time CGM is somewhat cheaper when bought in a long-term supply bundle, but there may well be a reason for that....

All experience, good or bad please, and thank you so much to anyone who is able to give the time to reply!

Looks like this CGM uses a Libre Pro sensor with a Nightrider BlueCon bluetooth transmitter which reads the Libre Pro sensor and sends the to reciving device.

This user in India was not very impressed.

If you want a CGM cheaper than Libra 2 in the UK, consider the Dexcom One+.

This YouTube video was uploaded a year ago.

Even prior to back then Bluetooth bridges (like Miaomiao or Bubble.) were defunct Due to the Libre 2 BT capability.
I’ve had them on prescription for nearly 3 years.
They were out in Germany for at least a year or so prior to that…?

So @timcanning668 can either use Librelink if plumbing for a Libre 2 or a free download of an after market app like “Diabox.”
With phone widgets or a send to a smart watch?

The YouTube video is like feeling displeased with VHS after the advent of Blueray?

If you look at … https://www.ambrosiasys.com/product/ambrosia-real-time-cgm/ you will see that $1049 gets you 12-Month Supply, including one Waterproof NightRider BluCon and 26 FreeStyle Libre Pro Sensors. So this looks like some old Libre Pro sensors plus this Nightrider BluCon gadget the guy in the video was complaining about.

A years supply of Dexcom One+ sensors is £916 or $1160, so not much more than this Ambrosia CGM.

I've heard good reviews about it.
Their products look decent, if I buy them, I'll tell you how good they are.
Your profile says you are in the uk. If so, the nhs should be supplying you a cgm with no need to self fund? ( Apologies if I've misunderstood, a possibility as I'm in New Zealand ).

I used one…. It’s trash! Constantly disconnects needing to be reset and reconnected by Bluetooth to get it working again.. it’s expensive to run as the batteries only last a could have weeks or so.. it adds a lot of bulk to the sensor as it’s designed to sit on top so I was constantly knocking it

The bubble and miao miao were b much
better devices..

Whoever put this add together is probably using copy-rited music.
A direct lift from Boney M’s “Ma Baker,” if I’m very much mistaken…

The Ambrosia clipped directly on top of the Libre, if memory is correct?
Adding more strain on the sensor adhesive..

not only that, its not small so sticks out a lot, where bubble and Miao Miao mostly sit next to the libre

but worst of all, not only was it technically rubbish.. the company when contacted will lie out of their backside.. along with other tactics like posting to forums and comments on YouTube asking for 'reviews' or 'posting fake reviews or recommendations' using this as marketing... its a company I will never deal with again

The Bubble & MM were sold by word of mouth from real users, back in the day..

To be frank. I didn’t see the benefit of adding more weight to the libre going for an armband harness that sat over the bridges?
I found the Bubble mini though just as good as the Miaomiao. Having a smaller “footprint” of the two..

I’ve used both mini & MM 2.
I had a stand alone watch. When the L2 came out the bubble worked then support seemed to stop?
(Or not long after..)
Which is a shame for anyone who wishes to escape from the phone..

I hear you on the fake reviews. It’s not just the minefield of Bluetooth bridges.

I do Android. But there are also IOS watches that are cheaper to purchase due to the latest.

& let’s face it. Even if you just use the phone as a primary device?

A Libre 2 is now a CGM in it’s own right…. ;)
