Man flu!

This is about the horrible feeling of what is termed 'man flu' but it could be just flu. But as I've had my flu jab, what can it be?
I'm just getting over the worse of the symptoms and have felt awful!
But as usual, just got on with it!
However, I have come out of ketosis, I can't get back to normal levels!
I've had a fasting day and that hasn't worked!
I've had no discernible carbs at all and I'm steadily in the lower sevens! I think that's making me worse!
I'm regularly eating enough, so I won't go hypo but I believe that I'm so sensitive to any changes in my blood glucose levels that anything other than normal, I can feel it!
I don't understand why my levels are above normal and I'm trying to get back into ketosis, but I can't!
Bloody man flu!
Don't want sympathy, any ideas? I'm drinking gallons of water, and keeping warm. Can only take paracetamol, I've asked my specialist last year!
When I feel better, I will get there but I think it's worse being hyper and hypo sensitive!

Hope you soon feel better, Nosher.
I blame all those carbs! :) ;)
Get well before Christmas and enjoy your grandkids, it will be as good as a tonic.

The flu jab only protects you from the specific virus (just one, I think, unless they have improved it recently), that they predicted would be prevalent, this winter.

Since they have to make the prediction months in advance in order to produce enough vaccine to go around, and because viruses mutate at unpredictable rates, it is even possible that the vaccine won't work with that particular virus.

It certainly won't stop you picking up any other colds, viruses, even other flu strains (there are several going round in any one year).

So if you feel dreadful it still might be any one of several different things...

Take care of yourself, and get well soon, noshy.

Well had it done in October!
So not that, but it did raise a little but not much.
Yes the medics say you may have a slightly raised temperature for a few hours after the jab. If you feel unwell after that then it is due to something else. Hope you feel better in time for Christmas

The weather surely isn't any help! With these temperature ( like spring) the bacteria and virus spread quickly. Get well soon and take care

Had a good sleep, no dreams!
Feel a bit better this morning, fasting bloods 6.7, so better as yesterday's was 7.4!!!!! (Tested twice!)
Been to work and got through that, also having intermittent fasting day. So hopefully should hovering in ketosis later!
Drinking loads of fluid and now relaxing as I might have shopping later!
Thanks for all the support!

Well, here we go again!

After a really nice weekend away and then getting back to work Monday.
I've got the bloody man flu again. It's hit me sideways,
For someone who never had colds, flu etc. This is very annoying as I feel rough. Second time this winter cos spring hasn't sprung yet!
Every muscle hurts including my brain. My joints are creaking and I'm shivering and hot. Sleeping like a baby, and just feel rough. Some bloody virus this is.
My get up and go has stayed in bed. Just feel tired and lethargic.

The surprising thing is my bloods are in the high threes! Haven't had a reading over four since Sunday. Maybe it's I can't face food. Forcing some low carb soup down me. Bloody virus!

I don't want sympathy, I just want it to go away before a busy weekend!

yup. it got me last week.

Chicken soup. rest. and be gentle with yourself. Days 3-4 were the worst (for me)

Only difference between us is my bg was raised at weird times. I am now on day 8 and feeling better-ish, but still a long way from 100%

Mind you, since mine is Woman Flu, and therefore not a figment of my imagination, it has been very entertaining watching Mr B's reaction. I am banned from the kitchen, the kettle and food prep (for fear of infecting him), he is making all my drinks, snacks and meals, plus he has been using antibac wipes on doorhandles, taps and the toilet flush! :D

Hi actual words were something like 'B$$$er It! You look like death! I am NOT getting that!'

Then this man flu thingy, must be one of my weird dreams!

But I'm still bloody shivering!
