I was told by Boots pharmacy that there is a manufacturing problem with Sanofi Solostar Pens. I normally see more people posting online when there is a manufacturing issue with pens, has anyone else heard about this?

No not heard anything, I picked up a prescription for the Solostar pens just 3 weeks ago and had no issues, not knocking Boots but try taking your prescription elsewhere if you can, hopefully they'll get the pens with no problems.

Thanks noblehead, I'll try and get some at lunchtime tomorrow at work.

Hi any further updates regarding the possibility of problems with the manufacturing of Solostar pens, thanks Carole

Hi Carole and others, able to get 10 pens from Boots in Liverpool Street Station, no word of a shortage.

Hi Marty10000 thanks for that update. We have enough to manage without the threat of problems obtaining our insulin supplies

I much prefer the older Lantus pens, where the dose was preset and you just had to pull and push the injector. It's a bit of a pain to have to remember your dose, if you change it nearly every day like I do.

I prefer having to set it every time actually, it makes me think about what I have been doing and perform appropriate adjustments instead of just going "Meh, 40 is probably fine..."

Hi there Im new to the forum,Is anyone using the ECHO pens by novonordisk ?
@chatterton - yes, I'm using Novopen Echo's for both NovoRapid (a red one) and Tresiba (a blue one). I also use NovoTwist 32G 5mm needles. I highly recommend both the pens and the needles (great system) - I managed to get all mine on prescription so check with your Dr or DSN.
