Following an issue with connecting my transmitter - a call to Medtronic Support confirmed my transmitter is just out of warranty and with their guidance they couldn’t connect it either. So it was declared to be faulty.

I’m advised that my replacement transmitter is ‘on back order’ with no indication as to its likely delivery time. So no CGM for how long?

Medtronic pumps, CGM’s etc have always and still do give me great control, but I struggle to understand why it’s just down to the customer/user to flag up end of warranty replacements.

As has been seen several times on this forum, users having CGM issues often discover later that their transmitter warranty has expired.

Thankfully, I’ve just managed to reconnect my transmitter - no thanks to Medtronic.

Roll on the Simplera!

It’s probably easier for them to get you to check your own warranty than for them to have a system in place to contact everyone whose warranty is running out for various things. I knew when my Guardian 4 warranty was ending although when I rang the hospital to say it was ending and request a new one as mine is funded through the NHS I was shocked when they said usually they don’t replace them unless they don’t work any longer.

I’m also NHS funded and I was surprised that my hospital’s approval wasn’t needed. I’m pretty sure it was on previous occasions.
