I had my first reading of "lo" today

I knew I was hypo, I didn't realise I had crashed so hard.

So looks like the rest of my evening will be spent try to get rid of the taste of the lucozade (boke) and nursing my post low headache

Hope everyone else has had a better day!

Hope you're feeling better now! Don't do as I did yesterday and eat a ridiculous amount of chocolate which meant a rebound to 20.5

I didn't think is have one! I'd had a drink but not a lot. I know my limits 99% of the time. Walking the dog I suddenly felt HAMMERED, weird since is had lunch with my drink. Had the good sense to test and saw the lo. Laughed a LOT! Scoffed some haribo as I skipped off to the shop for lucozade.

Pretty intrigued by what the number actually was!

This one is going in the pump campaign bank
Yes, I had two of those , one scarily when I had just been riding a bike.
I'm sure that had something to do with me being offered a pump!

This was about 8 hours after a run, and the second hypo of the day.

This is why I get so nervous about exercise!

Pump assessment on the 18th march!

I'm sure (but might be mistaken) that the lowest reading on a bg meter is 1.1mmol/l then after that it reads LOW, either way it's still a shock to see that on your meter so hope your OK now hale.

Yeah I'm fine. Felt surprisingly good through the whole thing, except for really disliking lucozade!

Hoping that's the last time!

I agree Noblehead - I've had readings of 1.1 and also of 'LO' so I assume 1.1 is the lowest number it'll give. I think it's safe to assume that LO means you are 0.something. Shocking really. I usually have to look twice at those ones - it's only when I stuff as much food into my mouth as possible that all the hypo symptoms appear!! I wonder whether your body conserves as much energy as possible by even giving up on the warnings?!?

I've had a LO once before, did not feel that odd, so retested. came in second time at 3.XX, abouot what I felt.

Remember that at the extremes the accuracy of these meters is worse.

As you say, they all go in the pump bank like my mid rin 3.1 yesterday with no symptoms

Hope the after effects don't last too long and you can resist the urge to eat everything in the fridge

My disbelief meant I tested twice. Both LO. Little doubt with 2 of them. After 300ml lucozade I got to 1.8 - was clearly VERY low before!

Reached 10.something, but back to 8.2 before dinner a few minutes ago. So at least I know I've got enough self control to treat efficiently!

that's cutting it a bit close!
You're telling me!

Really pushed my run this morning. Strongly suspect that has something to do with it

Hi Hale,

I've never seen a LO - and I truly hope I never do! 1.9 was my lowest and I felt pretty scared at that, so i'd freak out if I ever see a LO! The lowest the meter reads depends on the meter. My Accuchek Mobile will read down to 0.6 - so if I ever do see a LO I think I'm in serious trouble!

The Balance magazine arrived today and has the BG range for all the popular meters. If you tell me which meter you have I can tell you how low your meter read at before you get a LO. They're all either 0.6 or 1.1

Hope you're feeling better.

If this happens again Hale I would try to get a pump. Although pumps are not briiliant all the time, once the basal flow has been adjusted to suit, most hypos are only mildish and are easy to rectify.
