metformin and mood and anxiety

hi all i just wanted to ask can metfomin
effect ur mood or make anxiety worse
or give u anxiety as any body experience with this ive constantly felt wired at night and in the morning and anxious in the morning after taking my tea time dose of glucophage at tea time the night before i feel so pumped up with it every day now i do suffer with anxiety but not like this

Unfortunately there is a potential here for a self fulfilling prophecy - you are evidently worried about it - and that itself is a cause of anxiety.

I once went to my GP because I was not sleeping - he told me that wasn't a problem - the problem was worrying about it.

I ended up working nights for the next few years.

Hi, I was switched to Sukkarto months ago (modified release metformin) due to gastric symptoms, but have just switched back to generic metformin because the anxiety I have experienced seemed to worsen around 6months ago! Has anyone experienced the same?
