Metformin Dosage

Hello, I am new to this Forum so here goes. I have been taking Metformin for about 5 years with no problems. I was diagnosed as having to take 3 x 850 mg dosage per day but have very rarely taken the middle dose due to me forgetting. Have tried everything from putting the tablet in my lunch box to putting the alarm on my phone to help remind me but still forget. My BS levels have been fine until about 6 months ago but have started to creep up and are now around 7.9 - 8.3 before breakfast. My Diabetic Nurse has been trying to put me on additional tablets but I freaked out when I read that they can cause hypos. She gave me some time to try to take my middle tablet but still couldn't remember.
What I want to know is if it is possible to take Metformin over two doses per day instead of the three?

Rude people! Not being able to do the things I want to do.
Hi Angelal, welcome to the forum.
I suggest that you ask for the slow release version of Metformin. This can be taken as two doses in a day.
