Moderator nominations for 2016 (Nominations close: 31/1/16)

I would like to make a request that in considering nominees suitability, that any who have been banned in the past are not automatically excluded.

It is my opinion that some bans have perhaps been for reason of passionately disagreeing with moderators. To treat bans such as this in the same way as those that have been for offensive, remarks or deliberate harassment would be unjust, and could result in some potentially knowledgeable and helpful members being ineligible. That would be to the detriment of progress. (Again my opinion, though I believe some will agree).

I would also request that any nominees wanting to be considered for election, but have hidden profiles on here, let us all have the opportunity to know more about you by making your profile info available, even if only as a temporary measure.

I kind of agree with Pipp on the profiles issue.

Not that we are all going to become best friends with every mod, but its good to know who your mods are. Kind of a 'good faith' gesture to the boards that they are fine upstanding boardmembers with nothing to hide; those who take the first step in setting a good example - a complete and public profile should be encouraged or at least filled in with good humour lol (either way an effort has been made).

Hi, yes, you are correct, I did, but left for a couple of reasons.
I have kept away from this thread, but just wanted to say, I wouldn't nominate anyone for a job as a moderator. anywhere, but there are a couple of members I feel would do a honest and worthwhile job, with their knowledge and understanding.
I hope, when decisions are made for moderators, that the right decisions are made, for the right reasons and with the best interests of members and the forum too.

Thanks @Robinredbreast for replying. My memory aint what it used to be, but it was in the back of my mind somewhere. It seems like a thankless task, but a necessary one. Good luck to anyone who would take up the challenge.
