Re: Morning Blood Glucose

dawn phenominon.

Its basically your hormines getting you ready to face the day fighting. It causes glucose to be released from your liver as if you have a hypo.

Are you sure you didnt have a hypo overnight as well?

Yes I am sure if I have hypos at night they always wake me up!! I have also got up at 3am for a week to test and I was always the same as when I went to bed! It's getting so frustrating having to correct every morning

Re: Morning Blood Glucose

Speak to your consultant about getting a pump - its the only alternative to morning corrections Im afraid. Im pushing to get one for the same reason.

Re: Morning Blood Glucose

Hi there

What insulin regime are you on at the moment? I use to have the same problem on Humulin M3. I'm now using the basal bolus system, which keeps my evening and morning levels under much better control.
