morning blood sugars raised. Normal?

I have just started testing myself, having bought a meter(!!!) I want to be in control of my diabetes which is impossible if I follow my surgery's advice of not needing to test. (Type 2 diagnosed about a year ago )
My morning , pre breakfast readings are higher than my evening post eating readings. Is this normal?
Also they seem to go up after exercise. Is that normal?

Hi rtee,

All perfectly normal. The morning one is probably due to the Dawn Phenomenon and exercise does raise blood sugars with some people, depending on what you are actually doing and the timing of it.
