Moving back to Scotland

Hi all, we are moving back to Scotland in a few weeks and wondered if there are any members near Perth or Dundee. We will be living between these two cities but wanted to know if anyone could recommend a good hospital or have any experience of diabetic teams in the area.

Hi Auds. I would recommend going with ninewells diabetes team. All really professional. Helpful and approachable. Great team of docs nurses. Eyes specialists and podiatry. Cant fault it. Always keep on top of you and always there for support

lucky you! I would love to move back up ( one granny was from Redgorton and the other was from Stirlingshire) Best of luck!

Thanks Dave11m, i had been thinking about ninewells as I think it will be about 25mins from us. Can't wait to get over, have been living beside lake garda for the past 7 years which is a beautiful place...for a holiday, to live has become impossible.
Yeh ferguscrawford we are really lucky we have this opportunity, i love scotland...rain, hail or shine!

I live in Dunfermline a bit further down the road but highly recommend Ninewells get seen there for my opthamology complications

Ninewells Hospital Dundee is meant to have great endocrinology and diabetes dept.

Wish I was moving home. From Dollar, Clacks, originally. Been in London for 30 years.

That's good to know Dfiona, i am looking forward to getting some sort of pro active care as here in Italy you are very much left on your own. ,no courses or anything to help understand and control bgs. 30 years in london...its a long time, but i know what you mean,home is always where your heart is.

Thanks avocado sevenfold, that site looks really good, i had a look at some of the links. Looks like to register though you need to be registered with a doc in scotland so i will get on to that as soon as i find a new gp.

From what I understand, you get to see your hba1c results on the site before you see your doc/nurse. Forewarned is forearmed as they say hehehe.
