My 9 year old son who was diagnosed as type 1 14 months ago has been on multiple daily injections, using novarapid and lantus. His last HB was 6.4 so he has fairly good control. However, he would very much like to try the pump as he is very sporty and apparently he would have less hypos if he went on the pump because he would be able to control the background insulin far easier than using lantus.
I would very much appreciate any views on whether the pump is a lot better than the daily injections.
