I was mis-diagnosed 11 yrs ago as a type 2 until I finally saw a consultant at my local hospital who then diagnosed me with type 1 and put me on insulin. With this mis-diagnosis and treatments over the years of which none had worked,I am taking 44 units of lantus and insulin to carb exchange at a ratio of 2.5:1 mmol. I now have neuropathy in my fingers and feet. I have been given nortryptaline to start with to help with the discomfort. My question is over the last few months I have been suffering incredible back pain and have had kidney scans etc. I suffer contsant back pain and after periods of standing or walking I am doubled over and unable to walk until the pain passes. My dr is now sending me for physio. Could this also be neuropathic pain as nothing seems to work at present.
