hi i have only just joined the forum. live in the uk. been type 1 for 50 years. Thats an awfull lot of jabs and pricks. hba of 50 last time. I was lower but doc asked me to bring it higher a little

Hi and welcome to the forum. 50 years is a long time, you must feel a bit like a pin cushion.

Welcome! You've got 30 years on me. From the advances made since I was diagnosed, I wonder what will happen in the next 20.

thanks all. when first diagnosed there were no such thing as blood tests just had to put a tablet in urine sample.very inaccurate. I have done a DAFNE course 2 years ago and I highly recommend it. Thought i knew everything how wrong i was. Have had quite a few hypos however my results now are very good. Trying to get a pump at moment via nhs as my injection sites getting worse. I don't like the idea of a tube but still would like one. I have always worked and have a skilled job but not paid very well. Haveing 5 jabs a day.
