    Some scary stats here too...
"US diabetic foot ulcer market is estimated at approximately $2 billion annually."

Christopher M. Cashman, President and CEO of SANUWAVE, said, "... diabetic foot ulcers continue to be the most common cause of hospitalization among diabetics....... Estimates indicate people with diabetes have a 25% lifetime risk for developing a foot ulcer, with half of these ulcers becoming infected...." but "Early detection and appropriate treatment of diabetic foot ulcers may eliminate the vast majority of amputations." Argh. 8)

T1 husband has had ulcers several times and they are devils to clear up.The most effective treatment has proved, in his case, to be VERY TIGHT blood glucose control[keeping around 5 at all times] for a couple of weeks. This isn't easy in T1 as many people know, but it WORKS better than any other treatment.
