Hi. For interest I looked at the latest NICE Diabates Pathway information including flow-chart on the NICE website yesterday. It's finally a good document in most respects for Type 2s. The diet advice is right i.e. to quote 'include high fibre, low-GI carbohydrates'. None of this 'starchy' nonsense and 'must have carbs with every meal' and so on. The flow process makes a lot of sense and the 7.5 mmol HBa1c level beyond which the GP needs to ensure the right medication is definitely provided including insulin is a revelation.
