Tonight I've been out with a friend and had a lovely night. We decided on tapas. I thought 'I'm having a night off the LCHF' and consequently tucked into the following:
Pitta bread and dips
Mushrooms in stilton sauce
Chorizo and roast potatoes
Pate and crispbread
Cabbage and bacon with peppercorn sauce
Fried halumi
All washed down with a glass of merlot.
It was all EXTREMELY delicious.
I'm testing at every opportunity and the results are in:
4.4 Before eating
6.9 after 2 hours
8.1 after 2.5 HOURS
7.5 after 3 hours
7.6 after 3.5 HOURS
8.2 after 4 hours
7.6 after 4.5 hours

QUESTION
ARE THESE RESULTS GOOD OR BAD AFTER EATING THE ABOVE. IF BAD, HOW BAD? THANKS

As long as your back on the LCHF tomorrow I wouldn't be overly concerned with those levels. We all deserve a treat now and again and you obviously enjoyed yourself and had a good time. Many would probably have been in double figures after that lot so accept it but I would not repeat the experiment too often as the next time you may not get off so lightly.:)

Given the carbs in potatoes and the breads, everything else was pretty low carb, so it depends on how much of tats and breads you ate. There does not seem to be much of a return to your before eating level yet and normally you would hope so... your body might have forgotten how to deal with carbs!!
For me, I would say they were not bad, in that really high, double digit, you probably won't be doing this too often...
but I'm no expert on this, given my response and those that followed, to your earlier email today!!

Well, you had a lovely night for a change and enjoyed the food. Your blood glucose results reflect the high carb food you enjoyed. If it was a one-off treat don't worry about it; just don't do it too often and you'll come to no lasting harm.

Thanks for the feedback much appreciated

Thank you for your reply. They are still at 7.6 5 hours after but hey ho. Won't be doing it again for a while!
