Night time hypos but high morning sugars

I have recently been prescribed humalin and take 46 units before bedtime. I am regularly having night time sweats and hypos but then my sugars are high (around 9) in the morning. The dawn phenomenon seems to be an explanation but I have no idea how to manage this better. Any suggestions?

Hi @JoJo_MoJo Welcome to the forum. I've never used humalin, and don't know what the profile is like, but whilst the high BG could be DP, it could also simply be a rebound from the hypo. The liver automatically dumps sugar as a response to hypos some hours later, so stop the hypo, could well resolve the morning rise. Can you consider taking the insulin earlier, or even in the morning, as its much easier to monitor/ manage your BG whilst awake or can you eat some slow acting carbs or even fats like cheese, before bed to help?
