Depends when I have dinner and go to bed! I do my levemir about half an hour before bed as it sometimes drops my blood sugar.

I used to do Lantus at midnight (bedtime) and again when I woke up, usually 7am ish. The overlap took care of my Dawn Phenomenon reasonably well. Prior to that I was waking up with high BG.

Now I am on a pump and basal control is a lot easier to get right. I was lucky though, 2 x daily Lantus worked well for me so I guess (apart from at dawn) my basal requirements are a nice, flat, straight line through the day and night.

Last injection of QA insulin is between 6-7pm, I also take my basal at the same time (but obviously in different sites) and go to bed between 10-11pm, on a weekend (Fri/Sat night) I go to bed between 12-2am.

Before 8 and basal at 10ish - I like my short acting to be clear before I go to bed....so normally tea is around the 6 ish mark, if it is later than I won't have my basal til a little later too! Basal is just before bed.
