Hi! I was diagnosed 5 months ago but went thru a denial stage for a while and have decided to act on it and be healthy....I just bought a meter a week ago and was just wondering what is the normal sugar level after a meal?---1 hr, 2 hr and 3 hrs after?
Here are my values:

Low carb ( green veg and fish)
Out of bed 79
Before meal 78-80
1 hr after meal 95
2 hr after meal 90
3 hr after meal 80s
High carb. (White rice, breads potatoes, with protein)
Out of bed (heavy meal) 114
Before meal 80s
1 hr after meal 125
2 hr after meal 121
3 hrs after meal 100

Are these values okay?
Thanks!

Surprisingly yes they are fine but the second meal fasting is high. The rice and potato would have done me in

Thanks for the reply jack! For the second fasting level, had a hypo the night before that after a spin class. Made a mistake of loading on the carbs after that episode---I got scared that it might go low again on the early am. But instead I got high results. Still getting used to this meter testing and glad I did it now....thanks!

T2 on meds:) BMI is at 25.7 slightly elevated but haven't been doing much exercise (sedentary lifestyle) till about three weeks ago. Yes I was on the bike when I started feeling faint and head was throbbing, one of the girls from the gym checked my sugar and it was down to 55...

Thanks for the suggestion jack! I'm looking at doing that...at the moment it's a bit of a struggle as I am a carb-holic lol but getting there....glad that I stumbled upon this forum--picking up good advice from all of you!:)
