Strong smells, poor customer services, long queues, rubbish food, being fobbed off.
Ruined what I hear you say ?
Coleslaw !
I love the stuff and eat heaps of it with salads.
I used to buy Lidl's as it had a proper plastic hard lid on it ( not like the useless flimsy - peel off lids ) and it tasted just great..... until I noticed very recently a some Lidl bough slaw had a funny taste, its "too sweet" and sickly I thought .
Lidl have tweaked it ! Yuk !

So the hunt is back on for a good coleslaw ( the cheese version Lidl has seems to have not been " improved " and it seemed to taste ok...
( more like the original coleslaws they used to sell )

So there you have it you coleslaw lovers - there's my 2 pence worth....

If you discover a good non sweet one ... do let me know ! Thank you.
(Or I should just make my own, it can't be difficult !)

Shoran.

If in doubt try M&S

I’ve never found a commercially sold coleslaw that doesn’t have sugar, our local butcher makes their own which is just veggies & mayo. But usually I just make my own, grated carrot, shredded cabbage, thinly sliced onion, or you can grate it if your eyes can take it, blob of mayo. I don’t season until I’m using it as salt will draw out the liquid from the veg. I sometimes add a teaspoon of double cream to the mayo before mixing too.

Try Lidls creamy version.
Or sometimes I add a spoonful or 2 of yoghurt, or a squeeze of lemon juice, or some mustard to 'sharpen up' the flavour
And yes making your own is easy, but not so easy to make only a small amount!

personally love the taste of co-ops irrestistable coleslaw. its pretty high in fats 14% smaller serving

Thanks - I'll avoid Lidls new improved flavor creamy version _ I found it tasted sickly sweet.

I'll look out for Co ops and Aldi thanks guys !
