Painful bruising?

Does anyone else react badly to the libre 2 sensors?
I was only able to find one area where they don't come off me but I get a very large dark purple painful bruise in less than a half hour. I'm a stomach sleeper and now that pains added to my lousy rare sleeping!

I only tried one once. It caused allergy type rash round the site , despite me using a barrier gel and hypoallergenic cover over the sensor.

I use a meter instead now.

Have you tried any alternative sites to your arms, as some people use their thighs, chest, lower back etc. The bruises sound like you're hitting a blood vessel, which we can't avoid sometimes, but it's best to try to avoid that place in the future, if you can possibly find an alternative place. I appreciate you said it was the only place it stayed on.

Did the bruise happen once or every time you use one?
A bruise can happen when you accidentally hit a capillary when inserting.

I use an overpatch to prevent them from falling off.

Just noticed this thread. I always put my sensor on my upper arm, more or less where they suggest. Often it hurts a bit for a day or so after fitting (e.g. when it gets touched as I move in bed), and on a couple of occasions there has been marking after a couple of weeks where it obviously went into a vein.

Only a few times for the very bad bruise. Other times a huge red mark that takes a week to heal at least.

Have you tried any sort of barrier cream to protect against an allergic reaction? Alternatively a different sensor??? Dexcom is a similar price to libre so might be covered by your insurance.....

Not yet as the pharmacist feels that I shouldn't use them.

I made the mistake of saying I can't wear them at the arm area where your supposed to. And he said you must wear them there.
And wouldn't let me have any. Even though I told him my dr said that where I was wearing them was fine. Which is on my chest.
So I gather that the pharmacist didn't hear me or believe me that the dr said it was fine.
