I know that unstable levels for long periods of time can affect nerve endings ect but I haven't heard of anyone experiencing paralysis due to it. Make an appointment to see your specialist who'll be able to clarify things for you and possibly even arrange a course of action to get to the bottom of this.

I hope you feel better soon, I'm always free for a chat if you need to talk over anything :)

Take care

Hi -- it's probably not linked directly to diabetes, I do hope they can sort out a diagnosis fast.
Do make sure that they are testing you for B12 deficiency, among other things, given that you already have auto-immune problems. Jerky legs, pain in legs and lower back, weakness are all symptoms of B12 deficiency (as well as other conditions). B12 deficiency mimics more serious neurological conditions, but can be treated very easily and safely, though consultants often forget to check.
Keeping fingers crossed for you.....

Rnichols1996 Get tested for neuropathy. You have similar symtoms to me. Neuropathy is a side afect of diabeties and debilitating which you are finding. As you have had diabeties for 5 yrs it coiuld well be. Are your sugers under controll ie.on and around 6.5 with medication. Any higher in the long run can bring on neuropathy.go on to google and type in neuropatht sysmtoms and play around the various info webs. You may pick up some info.hope this helps you to find an answer.I well no how you feel god bless.
